Top 10 Favourite Boudoir Poses

It is truly so hard to compile a list like this, as in the world of boudoir photography, there are truly no limits when it comes to poses. There are definitely some classic boudoir poses that I love to incorporate into each person’s session, however, there are a lot of poses that I come up with on the fly in person at people’s boudoir photoshoots. It all depends on the outfit, the person, the lighting, and the vibe, so you can truly imagine how hard it was for me to narrow this down!

Here is my list of my absolute favourite boudoir poses that you must give a try at your boudoir session!

10. Laying on your Stomach - Peek-a-boo Booty Photo

This one is a subtle way to show off your booty. The focus of the shot is definitely on the subjects face, let’s showcase those eyes, maybe a smile, but we are still giving a subtle hint of sexy yet cute with the added glimpse of your booty in the background.

9. Laying on your side facing the camera

This is a casual yet fun pose, simply lay on your side facing the camera, drop a knee down, bring an arm down to frame your chest, and again we can focus on that beautiful face of yours!

8. Arching up against a something

I love this pose but it is a little bit of a work out with all the arching I make you do! Either lean up against the arm of a couch, against the couch itself, maybe a wall, or perhaps place your hands behind you for the added support. Your legs will stay out in front of you, and then in comes the workout, push that chest to the sky, and let’s let the light skim across your body showcasing your curves!

7. Kneeling on the Bed, Couch, or Ground

Another classic pose is to simply kneel! This boudoir pose is super versatile and can be shot pretty much on any boudoir set. Add in a mirror to get another view! The options are endless.

6. Laying on your side Booty Photo

The laying on your side pose should also be photographed from the back, especially when you add a mirror in to still showcase the front of you. Pull the hips back to really push out that booty, there are so many angles and way to shoot this boudoir pose too.

5. Detail Shots

It is truly all in the details. Boudoir should showcase all of you, and why not get close up details shots of all your best features. Whether it’s a close up booty photo, breasts photo, your hip or perhaps even your clavicle! There are so many different parts to photograph on the human body, so let’s capture a little bit of everything.

4. Arching off the Edge of the Couch or Arching on the Floor

This is a highly requested pose! The arching on the floor photo is not for the faint of heart though, and is truly a whole workout in its own. Laying on a hard surface is great though as there’s no sinking into couches or furniture to distract from that beautiful back arch we are working so hard to show off.

However, the arching off the edge of the couch shot, is simply wonderful too as you can capture a similar vibe, but hanging off the edge of the couch, gravity takes over and helps you showcase that back arch yet again.

3. Standing facing away from the Camera

I love a good standing shot, especially when the booty is involved! I love doing these types of boudoir poses in front of the window, a cool wall, or maybe even a mirror! Each option creates a completely different vibe, but shows off the legs, back, and you guessed it, the booty!

2. Close up Face Photo

I take a lot of close up face photos during my boudoir sessions, and for good reason! Especially if you opted to get your hair and makeup done, then let’s show off that fabulous look you are rocking. It really allows me to focus on the eyes too which I love.

1 . Classic Booty Shots

Laying on your Stomach on the Bed or Bent over the couch

Last, but not certainly least is the ever classic booty shots. Can you tell that I love a good booty photo? These photos right here are HIGHLY requested too. Opting for my classic booty shot on the bed is a fan favourite, but again, can be a lot of work, but I promise not to make you hold this pose for too long.

Let’s switch over to the classic booty photo on the couch, this one is great and a little less strenuous on the low back, as all you have to do is lean on the couch and bend over, letting your back naturally arch and push your hips back, it’s a great way to showcase your booty!
