Flashback to the summer of 2022 and one of my  favourite boudoir photo shoots from 2022.  When it comes to my particular style, I myself can be a litter all over the map, so when Miss F came into my studio in June for a consultation with many different ideas, vibes, and outfits, I was all over it, as I truly love variety! My brain can get pretty busy at times, so shooting so many different vibes was exciting for me, as I got to try out lots of different ideas, poses, concepts as Miss F seemed like the perfect client for it.

Boudoir Photography is one of THE best things you can do to treat yourself and show yourself and your body a little appreciation for what it all does for you.  Here is a little about Miss F’s experience with us:

“ Before I decided where I was going to go for my first boudoir session, I did a decent amount of scrolling through various hashtags on Instagram about Edmonton Boudoir Photography to see what was out there. I googled, read reviews, checked out policies, and what various companies stood for.

I was draw to Calie for three reasons:

1) I liked the style and photos I saw.
2) I liked that she had photos working with a diversity of clients.
3) I liked the prices.

It was important to me that I support a business that holds similar values to mine, and I saw that Calie was inclusive and creative. So it seemed like a good fit, and it turns out it was!

I didn't really have any expectations going into the boudoir photo shoot, other than what was promised, and what was promised was delivered. I was hoping to gain some confidence out of this experience, as well as a feeling of empowerment and those two were delivered on as well.

While I was nervous about wearing very little clothing for the shoot, I was actually more worried about what to do with my facial expressions and that my makeup would look too heavy-handed and wouldn’t fit my vibe.

I absolutely feel like I got the support I needed going into the shoot. The information on the website, and then the follow up info that is sent after you book your appointment was extremely helpful to me. I read it at least three times.

Calie was also super helpful in talking through ideas and outfits to go along with the various themes I had in my mind. She picked up on the vibes I was hoping for even though some of them were very different from one another. Seriously, brainstorming with her was so fun that I got over my nerves quickly.

I had to get over some nerves, but that was a me problem and Calie was so casual yet professional about things that I found I was able to relax a lot quicker than I expected. The only time I felt uncomfortable was putting on a fishnet bodycon dress! It looks like it should fit a doll but somehow I managed to pull that thing over my body without tearing it or putting my toes through the holes.. And then when it was on, I felt pretty damn hot!

I absolutely feel like I got out of the session what I was hoping for! It was truly a great experience.

Immediately after the shoot, I was hungry! But emotionally, I was feeling very jazzed. I was feeling proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone, I was feeling amazed that I had just done a boudoir shoot. I felt sexy and confident and so ready to scarf down a burger while I waited for my edits (which I did).

After I saw my photos, I was elated! I was so happy with them that I was excited to show them off to anyone who wanted to see. I was also impressed with the turnaround time on the edits and the fact that the raw images were such good quality.

I have been trying to practice kindness towards my body and thankfulness for what it does (keeps me alive, lets me walk, allows me to breath, see, laugh, etc.).

After seeing myself looking confident and feeling sexy in the photographs, it felt like connecting with myself in a way I don't usually get to. It's like I was able to meet myself on a different level. I realized that I am that woman in the photographs and I can carry myself with the same confidence and allure I have in those photos. I don't have to be dressed in lingerie to be powerful or pretty. The photos are a celebration of what I already am.

Hardest part of the day was choosing the photos for sure. And yes, my back really was sore the next day. So much arching!

Keep up the good work! Boudoir photography really is a gift to yourself and I'm so thankful that I did it. It's a creative way to express yourself and I hope that other people (no matter how they identify) can find the means to give themselves the opportunity to do it.

Well that’s a wrap! I just love hearing about our client’s experiences with me.  Hearing your stories and how boudoir has effected your life is truly why we do what we do.  I am so thankful for this amazing job that I have. Don’t forget to check out the rest of Miss F’s images below.

Much Love,
